AKILA
CAPTAIN: YEO YU CHEN
Hi my name is Yu Chen, and I am the Akila captain! my peers call me Chester or Chen, but for some of them, they also call me boss! side note, I'm a lil tall compared to the other captains so you'll never see me standing up in a group picture!
Anyways, running for Student Council and then for house captain is certainly a decision that ill never regret. While the going did get tough at times, AND the workload of being a captain can feel overwhelming; these experiences help shape the person I am today and I couldn't be more grateful. My leadership journey thus far has been filled with many ups and downs, but this has to be a highlight of my ej life, not just for the all the fun and amazing memories, but also the people I've met. My fellow councillors, teachers, the dedicated house committee members of AKILA as well as my brothers and sisters; I don't think I would have made it to where I am now without yall. THANKS for never giving up on me and being such constants in my life! It has been an amazing journey as house captain and definitely one I'll never forget :)
P.S bok bok is like our warcry, so say it with pride :D

EDER
CAPTAIN: ERIC LU
HI my name is Eric, and I am the Eder captain! I am usually loud, outgoing, active and I can barely sit still for long periods of time. My CCAs are currently floorball and Student Council, though I am also involved in various other things such as the school’s GLIDE programme. I am also in an external choir, The Vocal Consort, as I have always wanted to continue pursuing my passion for music past just being in my secondary school choir back in CHS! I support Barcelona! A fun fact about me is that I only have 22 teeth (yes go and count, you’ll probably realise you have a lot more). Anyways, being a captain has often placed me in tough situations where I have to make the right decisions under pressure. But through these experiences, I have picked up a multitude of important skills and mindsets and I definitely do not regret embarking on this tough yet rewarding journey. If there is one thing that keeps me going while trying to manage all my commitments in school and outside, it will definitely be the unwavering support of my family, brothas, sistahs, and dedicated teachers who i’ve met along the way in EJ, for they remind me that I am not alone and everything I do is not just for myself :)

ISAMI
CAPTAIN: JULIA NG
WASSSUUUUPPP my name is Julia and I am the House captain of Isami! My favourite colour is sadly, not orange, but pink and my favourite animal is sadly, not a wolf, but a pig! Nonetheless, I am still in love with Isami~ xoxo
Funny story, I actually did not want to run for house captaincy but I decided to, on impulse, because i figured that it will help me to be less introverted and overcome my fears of being infront of the crowd and of what others may think of me. Honestly, this journey has been nothing short of tiring but it has definitely been fulfilling. it has helped me to learn more about myself, allowing me to strive to be the best version of myself. truly, running for house captaincy has left me with no regrets (,:

ORA
CAPTAIN: LEE XIN CHUN
HIIII I’m Xin Chun, the house captain of the COOLEST HOUSE IN EJJJJJ (Ora) :D My CCAs are Ultimate Frisbee and Students’ Council. This journey has no doubt, been tough, and I am always being chided by my parents for taking more on my plate than necessary. However, through it all, I have learnt that You Only Live Once. So I have no problems losing sleep (and reputation) for the things I love. Seize opportunities as they come, sing your heart out like no one cares. Time waits for no man so do what your heart wants while you can! On this journey, I have met the people who inspire me everyday to press on when times are tough. My fellow councillors, teammates, and the best house members I could ask for. They shower me with love and support and teach me resilience whenever I feel like giving up. I am truly very blessed to have found a family in EJ and am proud to say I have emerged to be a better person :-)

Nonetheless, I'm really glad that I signed up and put myself out there to challenge myself and grow out of my comfort zone. This journey has provided me with lots of insights and learning which have developed me in my leadership journey. I also have bestest house committee members ever who have supported me all the way since the start and whom I am eternally grateful for. They have been a big part of my EJ life and are people that i have created many good memories with! It has truly been rewarding and fulfilling ride and theres nothing i would change about it :D
